Quilted Patchwork Tote with Johanna Masko Discover the joy of quilting with our Quilted Patchwork Tote! Whether you’re new to patchwork or have a few quilts under your belt, this sturdy fully-lined bag is a quick and satisfying make. In this two-part class, we will dive into the core skills useful in making quilts and quilted projects of any size: Safe and efficient fabric cutting Perfecting the Quarter Inch Seam Allowance Effective pressing techniques Glue-basting for pucker-free quilting General best practices Your patchwork can be a simple combination of just two fabrics, or you can use a wider variety of solids and prints to craft your perfect mix of pattern and colour. To show it all off, we will transform our quilted panels into a beautifully constructed tote you’ll want to carry every day. A class materials list will be emailed to you upon registration including fabric requirements, scissors, pins, marking tools, etc. **Basic sewing experience required or completion of Sewing Machine Basics for Beginners course.** With step-by-step guidance from your teacher and a small class size of 6, you will gain confidence in your sewing abilities and come away with a useful and adorable tote bag. ***This class runs for 2 Sunday afternoons from 11:00am-2:00pm *** Class 1: Sunday June 1st 2025 Class 2: Sunday June 8th 2025 Total hours: 2 x 3hr = 6 hours of instruction All notions can be purchased from the Sewing Machine Sales & Repair Centre with a 15% student discount with proof of class purchase. NO MAKEUP CLASSES ARE GIVEN SO PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE AVAILABLE BEFORE REGISTERING FOR A CLASS! The classroom is located upstairs above the Sewing Machine Sales & Repair Centre. Please note The Sewing School is accessible by stairs only.
