Serger Basics & Beyond Unlock the full potential of your serger in this 3 hour hands-on workshop! Sergers can be overwhelming but after this workshop, you'll be serging with confidence and ease. Learn how to confidently thread your machine, balance tension like a pro, and understand the role of each thread in creating flawless stitches. Learn all about stitch length, differential feed and tension. Explore essential techniques, including rolled hems, lettuce hems, and how to serge smoothly on different fabrics (stretch, knits, denim, etc). Practice hemming and finishing garments. Whether you're new to sergeing or looking to refine your skills, this workshop will teach you the skills to use your serger with ease. A working serger is required for this workshop! Sergers will not be provided. A materials list will be emailed to you upon registration including the exact fabric quantities you will need, and a list of suggested and required items. Students can purchase required notions (scissors, thread, rulers, marking pens etc) from the Sewing Machine Sales & Repair Centre store with a 15% student discount. The classroom is located upstairs above the Sewing Machine Sales & Repair Centre. Please note The Sewing School is accessible by stairs only.
